Review: Great upgrade for an already nice bass. - I got this pair to go into Jazz style bass which already had a really nice tone, but I was getting too much buzz from the single coils (I like to have one of the pickups turned down a ways for my preferred tone). The original pups sounded very similar to vintage Fenders. The NJ4SEs added a bit more growling midrange to the tone (which is why I chose the NJ4SEs instead of the NJ4SVs). The hum cancelling allows me to run either pickup solo or any combination of blend, with zero buzz/noise. They have significantly improved the tonal range of an already great sounding bass.
