Plugged a 160W Kings Folding panel into it, and in late afternoon, Winter sun on the east coast of Australia, angled towards the sun the best I could, I was pulling 7.85A out of this controller which is more than enough to keep my fridge running indefinitely off my lithium battery. Don't let people tell you that an MPPT is superior, because for small panels, there's very little difference in my experience. Excellent controller that I bought as a backup in case my CTEK blows an internal fuse (again) and is totally useless. Build quality is good, hard plastic with an aluminium base plate. The grub screws hold 8AWG cable very well and it won't pull out on their own easily. The LED indicators are very bright and easy to see in sunlight too. Review: Works very well. Excellent quality. I have setup to run LED lights system in a Cabin. Keeps AGM battery charged all year round, through hot summer and cold winter. It’s a simple rugged design. Hooked up to two 100 watt panels. Is this unit bad? Don't want to damage my batteries.** A: UNREGULATED 16 Volt DC can damage a battery but a working controller should prevent this. You can check the output of the controller and see what the voltage is. Should be no more than 15 Volts DC at most ... if it's higher, you have a problem that should be corrected. You may have a higher voltage directly off the panel without the controller. Mine in bright sunlight can get as high as 20 Volts DC. Again ... a working controller should prevent you from frying your battery. Just make sure it's working before hooking up the battery! **Q: I have two 100watt hqst panels that are 5.8amps. i can’t put these in parallel can i?** A: I wouldn't do that. I would get a controller that could handle12 amps like a 20 amp or at least 15 amps. If you exceed the rated capacity then it may damage the unit or cause malfunction. They make higher capacity controllers at Renogy for a little more cost. I only have one 50 watts panel to keep a battery topped off which is around 2.85 amps. **Q: I have a single renogy 100w 12v poly/ mono solar panel. is it possible to use this panel/controller combo to charge 2 12v batteries in series?** A: It should work with your setup since it automatically detects 12 or 24 volts. One thing That might be a problem is the 12v panel voltage. You may need a higher voltage panel or put two panels in series. It should be easy to do a quick mock up on the ground and check it out. Also, my advice is worth exactly what you are paying for it. **Q: Can I hook up a 24 volt solar panel and charge a 12 volt battery?** A: Thank you for contacting Renogy, The 10-amp Wanderer can accept up to 50-Volts D/C.
