The clip to hold the papers seems sturdy. This one is sturdy and lightweight but I especially like the fact that it doesn't have a fixed/protruding "eye" that most clipboards have (which seem to scratch EVERY piece of furniture that I come in contact with!), however, for those who do hang up their clipboards, there is a retractable "eye". It's durable and easy to clean (very necessary when you're working in hospitals and physcian offices!) and I'm impressed with the quality.
