That is definitely true. I've never seen cast-iron quite this rough in texture on the inside or the outside. It's uniform and raised almost like bumps. That being said I don't care. It's cast-iron. That texture is cast in iron it's meant to be used over and over and withstand lots of heat and abuse. The fact that it's a little rough on the inside doesn't affect how it's used and certainly wouldn't affect cooking with it .
