Those Fender amps were and still are great amps, especially the tube amps. As for Fender solid-state amps, not so much. The sound of the Orange Crush 12 12W 6" solid-state amp sounds much better than any other solid-state amp I've tried. It's very basic and easy to use, and it has a big enough sound to mic up and do a gig in a small venue, or use it to record with. As for the controls, it comes equipped with volume, gain, overdrive, low, mid, and high tone controls. The amount of good, clean (not fuzzy or muddy) distortion can't be matched in any Fender or Marshall at the same price point. The one thing that it doesn't have is reverb, which is okay with me. I prefer delay over reverb anyway, and I purchased an inexpensive KMISE digital delay pedal, and it sounds phenomenal. Even with the extra pedals, I still came out spending less money than what the Fender Champion II costs, and I got a much better sound with the Orange Crush 12 amp. Review: Great for beginners and looks great. - Distortion is decent & build quality seems nice. It’s small. Clean tones and distortion are pretty good. Overall a good budget, beginner practice amp. It gets pretty loud. I barely ever put the volume over half way. And it works well with pedals as well. I feel like an amp like this should be around $75 at most. But I would recommend this for what it’s used for and the quality of it.
