Review: A No-Brainer for on-the-go Disaster Preparedness. - Great way to store "emergency" water in your B.O.B (bug out bag) or even to carry daypack water when you don't want to have to pack heavy amounts of water with you. Water, as you know, weighs approx 8 pounds per gallon. Are you sure you want pack That much water with you and have to carry it for what could be miles in a disaster situation...? This is perfect as a "SURVIVAL" water source, being that, in an emergency or disaster... Your access to any potable or any water source at all, may be in doubt and you may have to move quickly to a safe location, so it may be a while before you can locate a water source at all. This is NOT for your HOME STORAGE where you can store the recommended Gallon per person per day supply, this is a "save your life in a disaster away from your home", easily resupplied source of personal MOBILE water that doesn't require you carry any heavy plastic bottles with you that may leech plastic or other chemicals into your water as your storage location may experience heat or cold (IE. trunk of your car) and besides, plastic bottled water only safely stores for 6 months max at a time anyways. These well sealed packets are freezable and store easily in any Day Pack or A.L.I.C.E. or MOLLE pack. Of course this is to augment your water filtration system (lifestraw, etc.) in case you cannot find any water to filter...It's pretty much a NO-BRAINER. If you want to nit-pick over what water resources you provide for yourself, when disaster strikes what will matter more?... what you want will take a back seat to what will keep you alive. Keep it simple. Yes, you can put water into plastic bags (if you trust your ability and your equipment or bags not to leech or fail) but why bother with that when this, more-than-affordable, source of good-tasting, well-protected and Viable source of safe drinking water is at your disposal. It's safe drinking Water for Emergency to take/keep with you..., Don't overthink it.
Review: Why you should and why you shouldn't! - My wife and I purchased a box of these to distribute among our bug out bags. We haven't tested one out yet to taste it but honestly we hope we never have too! Drinking out of a plastic packet doesn't sound all that romantic. On the flip side though I'm happy to have it. It looks like a great backup as far as water goes for either in your house, in your car, bug out bags and whatever else you can think of. So many of them come in a box and they are extremely reasonably priced in my opinion. You can distribute them among the various areas of your life just in case you come to a point where you need some water whether it's an emergency or not. Why you should: Nice and lightweight packets, very durable and strong, thick plastic. very sturdy to the point where I do not think anything less than deliberately cutting it with a knife with puncture it. They arrived quickly, packaged well and seemed like an extremely good value for money. We look forward to never using them! Why you shouldn't: There are many different brands of emergency water out there and while my wife and I found this one to be the best you may personally find a different one that you like better. There are also other options as far as emergency water goes such as filtration bottles, water tablets and so on. before buying these you may want to explore other options depending on your circumstances. As far as this purchase goes I am very happy with what we received and again, I look forward to never having to use them!

## Questions & Answers

**Q: can these pouches withstand a hard freeze or will they burst?**
A: I had a few that had expired before I drank them. I wrapped each one in a plastic baggie & put them in my freezer for emergency aches, pains, headaches, sprains, & to carry in my insulated pouch when I go walking out in hot weather to put to my face & neck. Good to grab for hot flashes too. They haven't burst or leaked out into the zipped plastic sandwich bag. When they get warm and melted, I put them back in the freezer. Perfect handy size that doesn't take up to much room. I slide them into the side door of the freezer for easy go to grabbing. No need to search through the food in an emergency.

**Q: Is the packaging BPA free?**
A: The pouches are made from aluminum, not plastic, so BPA is not an issue

**Q: What is the expiration date of the Datrex Emergency Survival Water you are currently selling?**
A: I got a box a couple months ago. It expires 8/2018. We have already had a water emergency and this product was most helpful. I will be getting more!

**Q: can these withstand the heat if they stay in the car during peak summer time months?**
A: I just found (and removed) 20 year old Datrex water bags from my trunk. California summers with the car parked in the sun. These bags are yellowed, but are otherwise in good shape. I would still drink from them in an emergency.
