Will not accept lead.** A: I had the same issue with the .3! I took the pencil apart and realized that the tip was clogged with broken bits of lead and there was one piece really stuck in there. This eraser cover is pulled off exposing the eraser. The eraser is stabilized by a “bilobed” silver sleeve folded to hold the eraser. When this eraser is finished, one would rmove the remnant and replace it with the replacement eraser. Basically, the eraser is beneath the chrome eraser cover. **Q: It says I need some sort of promotional code but I don’t want that, how do I remove it?** A: Hello! I tried from top and bottom and couldn't get it to work** A: I have not had to replace the lead yet, but I am pretty sure you remove the eraser and drop the lead into the pencil cylinder. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Nice pencils, come with shock absorbers *by C***U on Reviewed in Canada on 11 March 2024* These are stylish pencils, in a pleasing color, with a nice length and weight. They're elegant and not over-designed. Though not perfect, they work well in general, and I think they're a good set with great value for someone who wants the range of lead diameters included in this set without having to shell out for individual pencils. My rating reflects this value.The top-to-tip distance is comparable to that of the Pentel Graph 1000, and longer than that of the Staedtler 925-25, while the pencil is heavier than the Pentel and lighter than the Staedtler, which suits me well. The barrel is slightly narrower than the grips on the other two pencils, but I find it adequate, and I love the look and feel of the sixteen-sided design. (Which is apparently a "hexadecagonal prism", at least if you ignore the hole through the middle.)I also really like that there's no rubber or knurled-metal grip. I hold my pencils at different spots at different times, depending on how I'm writing or drawing, and I think having a special grip towards the bottom is highly overrated, and sometimes downright annoying. In contrast, I find the barrel on these pencils satisfyingly uniform, and it's also easy to hold them without slippage and without any earlier or worse hand cramping than I would experience with long use of any of my pencils.The tip is stable (no wobble), but what I didn't know when buying these is that, unlike any of the other mechanical pencils I currently own, these have a couple of millimeters of shock absorption if you press straight down on the lead hard enough. I myself probably wouldn't have chosen this as a feature, but I don't find that it's triggered when I'm using the pencils normally, so it doesn't affect my usage, and I know that some pencils are deliberately designed this way, and it potentially protects the tip if the pencil is dropped.Unfortunately it doesn't stop me from breaking the 0.3 mm lead fairly often. I'm not used to using such a thin lead, and I find that it's not well suited to my regular writing mode. Which is good to know, and in fact, I bought this set partly to see if it was worth buying a more expensive pencil in a 0.3 mm size. For me, the answer is probably no, but I'll certainly experiment more with this one.The lead advancement mechanism seems a bit lacking, though adequate. At times I've had to be fairly assertive, especially with the 0.3 and 0.5, to get the lead moving. I can see why some reviewers may have concluded that their pencils didn't work, based on that. In the first day of use I've also needed to clear a broken lead from the tip of the 0.3 with the clearing pin from my Staedtler pencil, but I broke the lead deliberately while looking at the mechanism and I'm not surprised that it needed to be pushed out. (That pin is a feature that all mechanical pencils with slender leads should have, but a lot don't.)The erasers do their job, and the replacements are a nice touch, though I typically use an external eraser so I'm not so concerned with this aspect.I'm enjoying the different lead diameters, and I'm happy to own this pencil set. I'll update this review if anything changes.(BTW, Amazon promised me a joke if I wrote seven reviews in a row. Seven reviews later, no joke was provided.
