Ceramic magnets, so they are a little brighter. Soldering was simple. I upgraded the pickup on a Squier Bullet Stratocaster single humbucker and used the neck pickup in an Epiphone SG G-310. These made a world of difference in tone. They have a vintage sound but handle distortion pretty well. Again, keep price in mind. You are not going to get a Duncan or DiMarzio set for $30, so don’t expect to get that kind of tone. If you want a quality pickup to replace the junky factory pickups in your inexpensive guitar, then these are perfect for that. Out of phase being making a humbucker a split col for a thinner sound. hope this helps. **Q: Will fit w/ floyd rose trem?** A: I don't see why not.
