The bolt moves up and locks for the glass break and moves down and locks for the pen. The pen is easily disassembled and is stable. Overall I am pleased with the design. I've bought several based on the recommendations and none fit!** A: If you search for this PEN-NITE-NTP31 you will find it with several replacements to choose from. **Q: can you put a space pen refill in this?** A: This pen uses the standard Parker-style refill. As long as the FIsher refill has the Parker adapter it will work **Q: where is pen manufactured?** A: Well since Nitecore is a Chinese company, I’m assuming China. I don’t have the original box so that’s my guess. **Q: Will the refill black-p900-fine tip schmidt parker style ballpoint refill work in this pen?** A: I believe that’s the same as a Parker refill so yes. I did have an issue with the bolt action though. I wasn't looking for anything crazy or expensive and this fit the bill. Comes with a nice case and feels really good in the hand. No real hot spots or areas that are uncomfortable. The action lever for the ballpoint pen is very fidgety and mostly smooth. Given the price point I'm fine with it being a little sticky here and there. The action is mostly smooth. The top of the pen has a small point for breaking glass etc. Honestly, not sure how useful that is but given the design and the fact that it is metal, I'm sure it would do the trick in a pinch. The writing itself is not bad and I like the look of the ink. I will say, however, that occasionally the ink gloms up on the first time writing something if you haven't used the pen much. Other than that no issues.
