Opening it is very convenient with the three access options: fingerprint scanner, button code, and two spare keys. Setup was straightforward, and programming the fingerprint and keypad code was simple enough. My only complaint is the interior space is quite tight for 2 full-sized handguns with extra magazine and speed loader. That one is on me though, because I probably should've measured more carefully.

This safe fits my nightstand perfectly. It feels well-built, heavy, and the lid opens quickly. Opening it is very convenient with the three access options: fingerprint scanner, button code, and two spare keys. Setup was straightforward, and programming the fingerprint and keypad code was simple enough. My only complaint is the interior space is quite tight for 2 full-sized handguns with extra magazine and speed loader. That one is on me though, because I probably should've measured more carefully.

It programed flawlessly. I like that I have a master key in case the finger/combo happens to fail. The fingertip reader opens the case very quickly. I bought the foam that easily be modify to the shape of the firearm and lined the entire bottom (the case comes with a thin and sturdy rubber liner throughout). I have a .38 with 4 speed loaders and a 9mm Max 9 with two magazines. There's still a bit of room left over for whatever I feel like adding to it. It's a heavy, solid unit. I plan on using it in both our home and RV so it is not bolted down. Considering these two guns sat hidden in an unlocked drawer, the safe is a much better solution.

After reading reviews and looking at specs for many pistol safes I settled on the double size updated model. I was impressed by the speed and accuracy of the biometric print scanner. The gas strut and spring seem to be plenty strong so far so I'll see if they start to weaken over time. Both the button code and the print scanner were easy to program. I like the lighting that shows where things are inside when it opens and the padding inside is good for protecting finishes. I only intend to keep one pistol inside but there's room enough for magazines and ammo if I want more in there. I also like that there are a pair of keys to override the battery operated security methods. I used carriage bolts with the nuts on the inside to mount it to my night stand and it is in a good position for easy access yet all the security I need to keep it safe from my kids.
