I really wouldn't use more than 1 pouch considering the heft, another bag would give me a larger kokedama at 4 lbs. I planted my muck with ming aralia, wrapped with sphagnum moss and tied it up with fishing line. It's moist enough when you receive it but I let it evaporate a bit due to a swampy smell, while your building your kokedama don't soak it heavily remember you can always add water but you can't remove any. It will wash away with excessive water but hasn't since its tied together, just dunk & soak.
