It is well worth the price. It's a tad smaller than my original turntable but satisfactory and complementary to the size of the crystal piano weight. The color is pretty too. I don't remember selecting a color, but it's cute. When plugged in, it's so quiet and the color schematic is vibrant and bright. I use it for multiple purposes. It functions as a night light and beautiful illuminating decor in the day. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Gets the job done at a good price! *by B***N on November 2, 2015* When you go on vacation and are looking around for souvenirs for the family, the laser etched crystals seem like such a great idea. Until you realize that in order to make them look pretty and sparkly, you need a light up base that costs 2x or 3x as much as the crystal itself! After going on a recent vacation, we decided to hold off on the bases at the souvenir shop and buy these instead. At essentially half the cost, I was basically only expecting them to work. Wouldn't you know it, they work great! The color changing LEDs work perfectly, gradually shifting from color to color as the plate of the base spins around. having the included wall adapter is great incase they ever get left on over-night (they are used as night lights at bedtime in my house).After using them for more than 3 months now, the bases are still holding up well and show no signs of slowing. The button for turning them off and on still works great, the LEDs are still all lit and still changing colors smoothly, and the mirrored base is still going round and round quietly. I have had no issues with squeaking or sticking of any thing of that sort.In summary, if you are looking for a nice way to display your laser etched crystals from a recent trip, this base is a good, budget friendly alternative to the bases offered in the souvenir shops. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works great after lubrication *by J***0 on June 7, 2013* I ordered five of these and the seller delivered them promptly. One had an intermittent red LED so I opened it up and re-soldered it and it worked fine.I have a few different types of crystal glass jellyfish paperweights on them and they look really great rotating with the LEDs changing colors. Two of the jellyfish are 6" high and weigh about 4 lbs and the tables seem to handle them OK. BUT, they were a little noisy so I opened them all up and lubricated them with petroleum jelly. That helped a lot and made them rotate smoothly. One was actually binding up quite a bit until I did this. There are only three screws holding the table and silver housing to the base so I recommend opening them up and separating the rotating table from the silver housing by prying the table away while pushing hard on at least one or two of the four tabs that hold the table to the housing. I have to admit that I thought a tab might break but none did. Then lubricate the gear on the motor and all the gear teeth on the table. Don't worry if the gear slides off the motor shaft, just slide it back on. Also lubricate the round opening where the tabs rotate and anywhere it looks like the table and housing might come in contact.I'm not sure if the bases were made to handle the 6" glass jellyfish but after a week of using them every night they're still running smoothly and quietly. I'm pretty sure it's because of all the lubrication. I could see where they made a token effort to put a dab of grease here and there when they put these together, but I'm here to tell you that ain't enough if you want them to last.The bottom line is that these are inexpensive and would probably work OK right out of the box with small laser etched crystal cubes or maybe the 4" glass weights. But if you want quiet smooth operation and the ability to display heavier objects then prepare to either spend more money for higher quality bases or take these apart and lubricate them real good. I plan on buying a few more because the price is right and I've still got plenty of petroleum jelly left! So far so good.Update: Four months later and they still work great. One started getting a little noisy and I simply took it apart and lubricated it again.
