My point is that you can put smaller blades in a 10" saw.A 10" blade on that saw has a maximum cut height of 3.25". Radius of a 10" blade is 5", meaning there is 1.75" from the arbor shaft to the table top. A 6.5" blade has radius of 3.25" and so at maximum height, 1.5" of this blade should stick out of your saw.
