I wouldn’t recommend mainly because they were just as noisy with than without plus they wore out after a bit leaving the nail protruding & difficult to extract. The only potential longer term issue with felt pads is potential gluey residue as they wear away but that’s fine could be resolved with solvent or sanding down.
