I have used them several times to cook bacon, turn chicken and chops in a fry pan and toss a salad. They worked equally well in all these tasks. They are sturdy and have a nice grip on the handle. The silicone tips prevent scratching of my cookware. They come out of the dishwasher (top rack) without any damage. I don't hang them up, but the locking mechanism works well to minimize the space they take up in the drawer. I used to have a pair of salad tongs with a sliding bracket to keep them closed. The bracket seemed to slide when I didn't want it to and was kind of annoying.
