The smallest is a 10". You have to use a collar thru the bumper. I thought maybe we could get away without it and we tried it inside without the collar, and I was able to pull it right over her head. So, luckily, we had a second collar laying around that we designated for the bumper. Best thing ever and so glad someone had the idea to make this!! **Q: I have a 10lb fully grown poodle mix with a 9.5 in neck - what size should I get?** A: Sounds like you would want to go with our up to 10" size. **Q: How wide of a collar will fit through the loops?** A: I can fit a 3/4” wide collar through the loops but I use a spare 1/2” collar and just leave it in the loops and when I am ready to take my dog outside I just put the bumper on rather than taking the dogs collar off and putting it through the five loops. The loops measure 1 1/2”. Hope this helps. **Q: Can you use without a collar?** A: Yes! I cut the loops off the inside the collar. It was too un-comfy for the dog. But if the bumper is too loose, you might have to use the collar.
