It has a strong peppermint smell and does work until it rains, although the smell does linger. As it is not a chemical I guess it would not harm your plants. **Q: Can I buy 1 to try without repeat?** A: yes **Q: Does the spray kill flowers** A: I would doubt it considering the ingredients and the fact it doesn't deter small birds. It certainly keeps the squirrels away but only for a short time and doesn't last very long. Will give it another spray in a week or so to top it up, but all quiet sunce i used the spray ### ⭐⭐⭐ Not pleasant to breathe in *by F***5 on 1 October 2022* Have used this a few times to try and deter squirrels in the attic where they are causing a fair bit of damage. It does not deter them for long. The biggest downside is that it seeps throughout the upper floor ceiling, I have to wear a mask to and from any room, even with the windows all wide open the smell does not disperse for a good 24 hours. Not good for an asthmatic like me. The smell in small doses is not unpleasant, but when it fills the hallways and bathroom it is not nice at all.
