It uncurls easily and lays nice and flat on my yoga mat. It is soft enough to adequately protect my knee (knee surgery 6 months ago) but doesn't interfere when I am moving from front to back on my yoga mat. I can do a series of Table and Kneeling poses now without pain. It is very easy to move it on and off the mat when I do need to move it out of the way for a vinyasa flow series, for instance.
