Review: Very Good Design But Not For Me - This is a very good product. I tried to use this for an RODI setup for continuous use and it gets very hot. The manufacturer says that it is not designed for continuous use and gets very hot, my fault for not reading. But I did end up testing it on some other stuff anyway and it works great. Also the company makes a motorized ball valve made for continuous use, since the solenoid was very good for what it was designed to do I’m sure that the motorized ball valve will be just as high quality. A+

**Q: What is the duty cycle of this solenoid? In other words, how long can it be open before it needs to close and cool down?**
A: The listed (on box) duty cycle is 8 hours open.

**Q: Will this valve flow both directions?  And will it flow engine oil, synthetic?**
A: It will flow oil but very very slow and even worse in cold weather.

**Q: 304 or 316 stainless steel?**
A: My husband says 304.

**Q: Can this get wet? Like if it were installed outside exposed to rain.**
A: The valves all have a rating of IP65, which means
they can withstand spray from water. However, if permanently installed
outdoors, it is recommended that you enclose the motorized ball valve in
some protective housing.
