I purchased this Pounce Pad with 3 chalks, because it was a great deal.Later, I found out that you should have a dedicated pad for each color. I have been trying to buy just the Pounce Pad, but they are only sold with chalk. If anyone finds a place that sells Pounce Pad only, please let me know. At the recommendation of a couple trustworthy, professional online quilting mentors, I bought the kit with blue, pink, and white chalk powder. I bought some stencils. I marked my first block. So far, so good. Into the machine. Chalk powder all over my walking foot. Chalk powder all over my fabric, my sewing machine table. Big mess. Chalk lines, all but gone. Returned to my source of recommendation - and read to "set" chalk with spray starch. Tried that. Didn't work. Same results. Read to use hair spray. Didn't have any. Gave up using chalk on my machine quilting. Too messy. Thought it might work with hand quilting. I tried misting a block with water and applied the chalk with a stipple brush, then let it dry. As I hand stitched, the chalk powder "went away," but a faint blue line remained on my fabric. I'm hoping it washes out. I was so sure of the product when it arrived, I threw all the packaging away, so I can't return it. I'm going to have to figure out another use for three bags of chalk powder; I'm not using it on my quilts.
