The kit is a standard first robot in many robotics classes. I found http://www.cs.columbia.edu/~sedwards/presentations/robot-car-instructions.pdf to have excellent instructions for assembly. Another source is a Youtube video from the Dallas Personal Robotics group https://www.dprg.org/ There are several ways to assemble this kit. I found the kit to be a good challenge for a first step in learning about robotics. The first link is my favorite because it explains the Arduino sketch. The Dallas video uses approximately the same instructions that came with the kit, just a little more difficult to follow because it's a video. Don't give up. It took me two weeks to get it the way I wanted.
