Review: Rough terrain creeper - This creeper works great! It has larger wheels so it rolls better over my rough driveway and a lower profile. Even has a back support built in. Wheels are plastic but should be ok. Would be easy to upgrade wheels in the future. It's worth it if you need one for rougher terrain. Review: Comfortable, big, easiest rolling I have seen - Before this creeper, I had 2 other ones, a big box store one and a $140 SnapOn basic creeper. Both of those had issues with rolling and kneeling on them, so I decided to give this one a try, after talking to a few guys and calling Traxion directly to ask about a few details. First of all, I am 6'2", 235lb, and even with my weight fully on it, it rolls unbelievably smooth and easy. Wheels go over small stuff, grime, cardboard, small hoses and pipes and occasional pebbles on the shop floor. Wheels do have a ball bearing on top (swivel) and a sleeve bearing for the axle, and are big comparing to other standard creepers. Frame is a perimeter type, with one big oval underneath the pad with no cross beams. It is sturdy, back is made out of plywood not particle board, and 4 arms with wheels are welded to the frame. I did not notice any issues with the paint as the previous reviewer mentioned, in fact, it appears to be a very nice finish - it withstood rolling over plastic and sheet metal scrap with no scratches that went all the way through to the steel. I guess only time will tell how well paint lasts, but to me, it looks very well and durable. Pad itself is the more comfortable than my previous 2 creepers. If you spend any significant time on your back on the creeper, you will appreciate a nice cushion that padded creepers provide. My first plastic creeper was way to "pointy", with all kinds of pressure points from clothing and tools that got caught underneath my back. SnapOn creeper was better in this regard, but I think this Traxion pad is even better. I just spent about 4.5 hours on it, and I do not feel a single point that hurts. It is also fairly wide, so rolling onto your side is not a problem and you will not end up on the side rails. But aside from all this, I think the biggest advantage of this creeper, for me, is the absence of side rails. Side rails on creepers add rigidity that is necessary for support, but also prevent you from kneeling or sitting on the creeper comfortably. Quite frequently my shins would get bruised from banging against the rails, and my thighs would get numb from sitting on the creeper with rails. Traxion creeper does not have rails at all, and thanx to this open design, when kneeling and sitting on it I have no issues at all. This is something that was very important for me, although I do understand other people that prefer rails for support when rolling around. I just think that because of my weight and size, I do not really roll off the pad that easily, so this side support is not something I need. Quite the opposite, I do not want it, so that I can use the creeper as a kneel board or a shallow seat. I also did not experience issues with my legs getting caught or rubbing against the wheels or arms. Maybe this is due to my longer legs that arch above the arms with wheels, but I can not be sure. Compared to my first creeper which was a dog-bone like, overhead reach and leg comfort are superior, with no problems extending arms above my head to reach stuff and no issues when rolling my head around looking for tools or bolts on the floor. The top surface of the creeper, when measured at the lowest point, is 4.75 inches from the ground, with bottom frame being just around 1 inch from the ground. For comparison, my Snappy creeper sits at 1 inch from the ground, with top surface at 4 inches from the ground. Width of the SnapOn creeper is 17.25 inches, where this one is at 19 inches. I don't think so. I laid down on it and tried to move it over a Sandy gravelly area and it was very hard to move. It probably would work great on concrete but really don't expect it to work too well on leaves and rocks and sand and stuff like that. Otherwise it seems like a nice creeper.
