**Q: Does the slicer work for both large and small avocados?**
A: Works well up to medium-large sized avocados. The really big ones will leave some meat on the inside of the skin but haven't been too many of those. It adjusts well to small ones.

**Q: Is it BPA free?  I want to avoid toxic materials.**
A: BPA isn't toxic :-)

**Q: Is the knife part of the tool even sharp to cut it?**
A: First year I had it I used the knife to whip through 96 avocados. Last year I opened and pitted 144 avocados to make guacamole. Both of those tools are great! While the slicer does clean out the skin, I found the "slices" to be not pretty enough to use for garnish or presentation. They were kinda mushy (which worked fine for the guac). Still, I have happily purchased the tool for friends who have been as thrilled with it as I am.

**Q: would this work with a mango?**
A: I wound up here by following my nose on The Deal of the Day. Mangos are totally different from avocados. Mainly, the shape of the seed and the high adherence of the fruit to the seed. And while I can't believe anyone would actually pay for an item such as this: no, I can tell you that it will not work for a mango. I use a fillet knife; I remove one large section from each side of the seed. I take the skin off of the seed using the knife in standard fashion. Then I cut each "half" into 3-4 lengths and, once again, fillet the skin off. I got a good fillet knife here. I was about $15.00. I consider it to be a much better deal. I recently bought the Oxo Good Grips 3-in-1 Avocado Slicer and I am very happy with my purchase. I had a big bag of avocados to handle and this tool made the process much easier and faster than using a knife and a spoon. It is quite an innovative product that splits, pits, and slices avocados in one go. The tool has a plastic blade that cuts through the avocado skin without being too sharp to hurt your fingers. The pitter has three metal prongs that grip and remove the pit with a simple twist. The slicer has a series of blades that create even slices of avocado flesh.
