Is this a good filter for hard water?** A: A shower head filter cannot soften water (remove hard water minerals) The only way to get soft water in a shower is to install either a whole house water softener or the "ShowerStick" shower water softener made by WaterSticks (watersticks.com). You won't get the results you're looking for unless you remove the hard water minerals. **Q: does it affect the water pressure?** A: No. I have not noticed any loss of water pressure. Thanks** A: This filter works best in hot water as the catalytic action is faster at higher temperatures. No filter will remove 100% of all contaminates. Any filter hot water shower filter that claims to remove all chlorine and chloramine is very suspect, most likely they are not able to fully test their end results. Under normal shower conditions of 1.5-2.5 gallons per minute flow rate, and between 100-120 degrees Fahrenheit the QwenchPure Shower filter is very effective. We have measured over a 90% reduction in free chlorine. This is the practical limit of titration tests, it could remove much more. We use the HACH brand Free and Total Chlorine test kit # 212900. Also, the customer service, is very good and accessible (in the case support is needed). I continue to have strong water flow (no reduction in output). The filter came with a brief, informative brochure. What was helpful to read, for my experience, is advising that positive changes may take a couple of weeks to notice (i.e. smoother skin, better lather, healthier hair, etc.). In my case, I haven't yet noticed anything different about the quality of my shower water. I have Well Water, so chlorine was never a stand out issue. The problems are related to the water being "hard"- severe build-up of lime, calcium, deposits, etc. My tub spout was literally blocked inside, with a very hard, and large "rock" formation, white/green in color. I had to remove the spout and install a new one. This experience is what led me on the path of filtering this water that I shower in! I did so much research, and was going in circles. I finally decided to try Quench Pure. To date, there is no noticeable calcium build-up. My shower water essentially feels the same, as of now. I haven't reached that dramatic experience (yet) so many people speak of, in their reviews about feeling an immediate, positive shift in the quality of their water (noticing benefits in skin, hair, lather, etc)..
