It's almost like a turbo fan. I tried both heat settings, and the heat is basically instant on. In just over a minute the whole room was warm, even on low setting. The thermostat is a dial control, not digital, so if you want to know the actual temperature in the room, you will need a thermometer. I was so impressed, I immediately ordered another and am presently awaiting delivery now.
