Review: My favorite curling iron of all time - My stylist used this on my hair the last time I was there. Even though I have very wavy hair, once my hair is blown out, it doesn't want to hold a curl. My hair looked so good, that very night, I order one for myself. The Chi volcanic lava does the trick, I love it!! The curling iron travels well, a little bulkier than other iron, but works better due to the cool shot of air. I just recently went to sunny-humid Florida and my curls held despite the moisture in the air. It's worth the extra price.

**Q: Does this work on fine, thin hair?**
A: Yes, this tool provides gentle consistent heat during styling. This combination allows styling at lower than normal temperatures producing less damage to the hair while offering smooth, shiny results.

**Q: I have shorter hair (above shoulders) with layers at the ends.  Will this be able to curl shorter hair?**
A: No this tool is typically used for longer hair to the shoulder or past it. Please go to chi.com and watch the video that's posted on youtube.com

**Q: Is this like an airwrap or is it a curling iron made to appear like an airwrap?**
A: It is simply a curling iron with a fan to cool your curl. It is nothing like an airwrap, and I do not think that was ever the intention.

**Q: If it doesn't have a clamp, how do you get the hair wound around it since the handle is 90 degrees from the heating part?**
A: While you are wearing the glove, that is provided, you wrap the hair around the barrel. You are holding the wond horizontal when wrapping the hair around the barrel. Once you have wrapped the hair around the barrel hold the end of the hair to the barrel (this is why you need to wear the glove) and point the end of the barrel downward(still holding the hair to the barrel). Push the button for the cool air, which sets the curl. Sounds complicated but you will get the hang of it fairly quickly. The curls you will get are amazing. I had my doubts as well. When I read the reviews(very positive) and saw that it didn't have a clamp I was sceptical to say the least. I get compliments everytime I use it. I just love it!!

I haven’t used it much, my hair stylist has one and she can curl my hair in about 5 mins and it looks so good. It takes me about 30 mins. I am still working with it to cut my time down. The curls stay all day without any kind of hair spray in your hair.
