That is, is there room to use two (2) new thinner ones in lieu of the original thicker one?** A: Doubled up the second filter doesn’t quite fit the evap40. However, if you cut about 1/2” off of the inside one, at an angle, it will fit. You won’t be able to flip that one once you do that, but flipping the outer one seems to keep the inner one working without flipping. I just did this after a big change in weather made all of my humidifiers struggle to keep the humidity level at 40%. My champion Honeywell HCM-6009 came the closest, but the evap40 was barely hitting 36%. After fitting a second filter, and running it overnight in my bedroom, the humidity is at 40% and the living room with the HCM-6009 is at 38%. So yes, at least in the evap40, a second filter can be made to fit, and it seems to yield a performance improvement. **Q: Will it fit Vornado model HU1-0048-43?** A: It does not mention this model on the packaging. **Q: Is this item eligible for subscribe and save?** A: It was the last time I ordered it **Q: Does this type of Vornado wick filer come in a 4 or 6-pack?
