While the front is semi sheer on both products that was not a feature I cared about. They do seem to provide a smooth appearance (better than thongs) with certain clothing. This one experiences less rolling of the edges on the rear side and any rolling experienced is easy to correct. There are small rubberized external tags but they are not noticeable regarding comfort. They are comfortable which is another essential and securely hold the nuts and bit in place. I would rate them slightly higher than the competitor’s offering. One pair developed a few very small holes on first wash (but no further holes in several washings since) so don’t know if that was a manufacturing defect. The feel is very soft and comfortable. Waist band is durable and snug. These are "seamless" so there are no defined reinforced leg openings, so expect some ride up in the back.
