I took the carb off my gen and compared the bolt hook up pattern to that of my carb. Looked the same and looked like there was room for it to fit in the space of the old carb. So bought knowing I could send it back if it didn't work. It worked fine with propane bottle regulator hookup. Some of those have fixed orifice sizes so I got a variable flow regulator to be sure I could get the propane delivery flow to the engine right. Hope it helps. **Q: Would this work on a Generac GP2200i?** A: NO! **Q: How long should i push the purge button in the center of the regulator?** A: 3 or four seconds most of the time. Things to know... *by on Reviewed in the United States January 20, 2025* Seems like older links to this carb are for a slightly different style (they point this out in the product images above), but no worries it works just fine and is a direct replacement without the need for a manifold adapter plate you may see in some videos online. So it bolts up directly without any fussing around. You DO need to use the new choke lever included in the box as the old lever does not quite fit. For my generator I only needed to remove the air box and throttle linkage and swap out. ***BE AWARE*** you do not get any gaskets with this carb. Search for "GX160 gaskets" and you can find a set if you need them. I did not need new gaskets as mine were like new, but I elected to replace with new anyway. This is seriously one of the easiest jobs possible.After a few years without running (didn't even check the spark plug) I connected to a propane bottle with a low pressure (1psi) regulator and hose (found on Amazon). Opened the LP bottle and the shutoff valve on the carb, pushed the prime button a few times, pulled with choke *off* and it started second pull. Purrs like a kitten. Tested with hair dryers and it worked just fine. There is a 10 to 20% reduction in power output using propane. Just be aware.I already have 4 20lb LPG bottles so I'm good to go. Propane doesn't go bad unlike gasoline. As a bonus my wife claims it is slightly quieter on propane, Maybe very slightly. But the exhaust smells much better -like hardly any smell at all! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Trifuel carb. Best. *by on Reviewed in the United States February 20, 2026* Bought a Toolyuan prior. It's the style with the diaphram under the bowl, potentially saving space. Unfortunately on the Champion piece of junk, the muffler had fallen off. That means exhaust scavaging does not work correctly, and that affects the carb. Even with that penalty, this carb ran much better than the Toolyuan. The only difficulty I had was due to the lack of exhaust baffel; not the fault of HIPA. Would highly recommend. The black valve on the bottom-right is a nice drain valve for the carb bowl, so you can evacuate fuel, even using the vacuum from the engine so fuel is removed from the bowl completely, it seems. Really good design. It's trifuel not dual fuel. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Doesn't come with gaskets *by on Reviewed in the United States April 3, 2025* I used this carb on an older Champion 196CC engine. It works with gas and propane. I haven't tried it on natural gas. 2 things to know. It does not come with gaskets so if you are replacing the carb on an older engine where the gaskets may come apart when you remove the carb order a new set of gaskets...save yourself some time. Also it needs VERY low pressure from your propane tank. I bought an adjustable regulator but it was still too much pressure. I returned it and bought this one.
