The aerial is effective and it found a large number of DAB stations on startup and the presets are easy to use. Note it dies not have an external aerial socket like some but does not seem to need one. The remote is adequate and the facia controls easy to use. I have mostly used it to steam apple music via bluetooth which is a doddle to connect to i phone and have played a couple of CD’s and some radio listening. The sound quality is better than i expected, i am hearing detail on some tracks i have not heard before which was a pleasant surprise.The CD player is easy to use and the loading and reject feels positive. I have used it with some wired headphones and the quality is still very good. (Asked by a technologically challenged person!)** A: I bought this radio so I can get DAB stations, you can connect your smartphone to it and play your own music. The sound quality is very good. Need to know how loud it will go :) could not find in description** A: It's not the product to fill a large room with noise, but if you are looking for placement in a bedròom or for moderate volumes it's fine. Sound is light on base without adjusting the settings, it is also missing some oomph in the mid range but as long as you are not using it as your main system to wake the neighbours it's fine **Q: can the alarm setting be the radio coming on?** A: Hi, According to the manual, page 11,quote:" Note please select a radio station before setting the alarm." Then, quote" press ALARM to enter menu, ALARM again to choose 1 or 2. Press FORWARD/TUN or BACKWARD/TUN to set ALARM time then ENTER again to confirm. Then press FORWARD/TUN or BACKWARD TUN to set ON or OFF, Frequency Wake up time, Source, Duration and Volume. Once selected press ENTER to confirm." Not tried it, but that should do it. Good luck. **Q: How do you get an MP3 to work on it,connected mine via relevant usb port-nothing-mannual no help?** A: Usually where companies don’t state this in the manual is boggling, basically most audio systems use a file format called FAT32 which is a USB which goes up to 32GB max. The size of a file can only be 4GB to go on a FAT32 usb. Round the time when windows vista was released they made ExFAT format which supported from 64GB upwards with a single file being able to support from 4GB and up. What you will see is that your have to probably use a 32GB usb with MP3 only so probably no formats like AAC, WAV, FLAC won’t be supported. What’s annoying that systems haven’t adopted this feature for new format types and when you format a 32GB usb your true space will be about 28GB and if you have high quality MP3’s at 320kbps they will be about 9MB+ a song. I am so far very happy with my choice its exactly what i was looking gor. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Very good unit with lots of features *by C***4 on 22 December 2023* I was looking for a DAB+ radio with a built in CD player and this fit the the bill perfectly. It's really easy to set up. As soon as I switched it on the unit started scanning for DAB stations and immediately found and stored around 70 of them including the ones I'm interested in. I've seen reviews which say that the user manual isn't easy to understand but I can honestly say that I didn't find that to be the case. I was able to set up everything I needed to very quickly. The sound is very good and the CD player works very smoothly. I've not used the USB feature yet but I have connected my phone via Bluetooth, again very straightforward.
