Review: A great step up from the Ticwatch Pro 2020 - I’ve upgraded from the Ticwatch Pro 2020 (TWP2020) which I have thoroughly enjoyed since I purchased one a few months back. I was very happy with the TWP2020, but when I heard that the TWP3 would be introducing the 4100 chipset, a larger battery with a 3 day extended battery life, and a backlit LCD screen (a feature which I really wish they had on the TWP2020), I had to jump on getting a new one. Increased battery capacity - I’ve spent the past week wearing this watch on at all times and only taking it off when it required charging. I spent the first 48 hours monitoring how the battery would last and I’d have to say their claim of 3 days of battery life held true. I have the watch using all the health apps and keep the watch on at night to monitor my sleep duration. After spending 72 hours with the watch, I finally charged the watch so that I could go through the next cycle. It’s quite nice not having to worry about waking up to a dead watch or having to charge it nightly. One thing that I have been doing is putting the watch on ‘Essential Mode’ before sleeping, which increases the Watch Idle time, but still tracks my sleep. Health tracking – I’ve primarily been using the new TWP3 to monitor my sleep duration, and it’s been interesting to see the quality of sleep I’ve been getting (good or bad). I have also been using TicPulse and TicOxygen, though I’ve never used a SpO2 sensor before, and it’s been kind of nice just to monitor my overall health throughout the day. If you’re not happy with any of the TicHealth-related fitness tracking applications they provide, you can always switch to Google’s suite of applications. 4100 Chipset – The performance of the watch has been great. The TWP2020 was a step in the right direction with the increased ram, but with the increased ram + the new chipset, the performance has been buttery smooth. Even the boot time for the new watch has improved. Aesthetics / Overall Quality – The TWP3 is sleeker and better looking when compared to the TWP2020. One note I will say is that the TWP3 is slimmer and lighter, but I actually really liked how the TWP2020 was in terms of overall size (I may be the only one who feels this way), and also the weight. I actually really liked how heavy the TWP2020 was because the weight made it feel more durable. But the TWP3 has been very easy to wear, and while the overall size isn’t all that much different, it does look much nicer. Though I will feel sad when I get rid of my TWP2020 because I’ve enjoyed it so much over the past couple of months. I do like the new silicone band the TWP3 does come with, but as many others do the same, I have several 22mm bands which I change out from time to time. The first week, I stuck with the TWP3 stock watch band, but on my second week, I switched to the hybrid strap the TWP2020 came with (I ordered 2 hybrid straps because I liked them so much with the TWP2020). The TWP3 display does have a slight display bezel around the screen (between the display and the physical watch bezel). The TWP2020 does not have a display bezel which made it look very clean, but for the TWP3 it does not bother me as much (as it does not outweigh the new upgrades). I just hope that they will get rid of the display bezel for the next iteration. Overall – I love it. I originally stopped wearing smart watches because I felt put off at the fact that I had to charge them nightly. But I’m really digging the fact that the TWP3 can last 3 days without a charge (up to 45 days if just using the Essential Mode). I do wish we could have some flexibility in customizing what gets shown on the LCD screen, but hopefully this comes in a future model. For now – I am very very happy with my TWP3!
Review: Ticwatch keeps getting better - This is the third TicWatch I've owned. I first bought the TicWatch Pro original version. Overall, it was good, though I had nothing to compare it to since I had never owned a smart watch. It was a little laggy and after I had owned it a year or so, it slowed noticeably (which was typical for watches at that time with the older processors). The TicWatch Pro 2020 was a big upgrade as the 1gb of RAM made a HUGE difference in speed and usability. I love my TicWatch Pro 2020 (which I sill own), but when the GPS version came out, I was intrigued. In addition, it has many other features like water-resistance (for swimming), 24-hour sensors for heart rate and sleep tracking as well as an upgraded screen. Being a tech-lover, even though I was quite happy with my Pro 2020, I decided to get the GPS version. I have not been disappointed. First, while I like the silver around the edges of the screen on the 2020 version, I'm a fan of the all-black design. While the screen is the same size (or maybe a touch bigger), the watch looks and feels sleeker and lighter. In addition, the additional features are a nice upgrade. What I like: - The new processor is snappy and responsive. Regardless of what I do, I experience no lag in response time. The processor and RAM seem to be the perfect combination for the demands of the watch. - Battery life is great. I can easily get 2 days of power use and possibly up to 3, though I've not tried since I don't like to let my batteries run down so far on any of my devices. - I've done a lot of testing with the sensors and they seem to be spot on. While working out on the treadmill, I test my pulse with the watch and on the treadmill and they match up well. I have found that I need to tighten the strap a bit more than usual to keep good contact, but not uncomfortably so. - I've never had a sleep tracker and decided I like it. I've had trouble sleeping in the past, so I'm learning about sleep rhythms and the ability to track my light and deep sleep as well as REM has been useful in determining how effective my sleep is. I'm a bit new to using a smartwatch to track healthy living, but have found it to be incredibly helpful. - I don't know whether it has a Mobvoi version of WearOS or if it's stock, but I like the new interface. It's very easy to use and quite intuitive. - The always on secondary display is great and only available on TicWatch as far as I know. - Tilt-to-wake is awesome! A few quibbles: - Anything I say is a bit nitpicky since I haven't found much I don't like, but I would say the touch-screen is not quite as responsive as my TicWatch Pro 2020, but it may have more to do with how great the old one is. I only had any trouble when swiping a pattern to unlock the watch. To remedy, I simply use the pin to unlock and it workds great. Like I said, it's a bit nit-picky, but I want to be honest in my review. - When wearing the watch for sleep-tracking at night, sometimes when I move my arm, the light comes on which is really bright. I've started turning off tilt-to-wake at night and that has helped with this issue. I also dim the screen since the screen is very bright even in normal mode. - This isn't a TicWatch specific thing, but I'm a bit disappointed that Google discontinued Play Music. One of the reasons I originally bought a WearOS watch over Samsung is that I could download music onto my watch so I didn't have to bring my phone on a run. (Though I'm not disappointed I did since as far as I know you can't download music on Samsung watches either). Hopefully, they make YouTube Music available on WearOS as well. All-in-all, this is a great watch and there is very little to complain about. If they continue to make products like this, will be a TicWatch user for a long time!

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Best Smartwatch Available - Hoping It Lasts

Update January 11th, 2021: The watch seems to be consistently working. I'm concerned about the long term use of this watch, hoping that it lasts longer past the return date. Ultimately, at this point, if this watch continues to work as it does now, I would rate it 5 stars and say it's the best watch on the market; at least considering the watches I have tried previously. Another update December 11th 2020: This watch is completely unreliable. The customer support is spotty at best, essentially they don't really seem interested in following through with what they say, in my opinion. As far as the watch is concerned, this is the second watch that I have had, and the past few months, and the sensors do not consistently work. In fact syncing is also having an issue like on my previous ticwatch. I returned that one and got the same thing, assuming that it was just a bad watch, and while syncing has been much better with this watch, I'm still seeing delays, sometimes as much as several hours before I can see the data on the watch. More importantly, the sensors do not consistently work. Sometimes the sensors won't turn on at all, and I have to restart the watch in order to get them to work. That leads me to believe that they have poor quality control, and mass produce these with very little interest in quality... It's a shame, because I actually love this watch. But I didn't spend $300 so that it would only work half the time or less. Especially considering that the main reason I got this was for the sensors, not the time. All of the positive reasons I got this are still included below. If you purchase this watch, I would definitely recommend paying close attention to how well it works. Even a simple issue could take customer services weeks to respond, even if you give very detailed responses about what the issues are. It could take you weeks to get your questions answered, by that time it might be too late to return. Updated Review: First, I have to say that I love this watch. I've owned the Moto360, Huawei Watch 2, Samsung Active 3, and the Fitbit Sense (for a very short time). Of all of those watches, Mobvoi comes in first (with Huawei a close second). I would rate the Ticwatch Pro 3 GPS as the best smartwatch available now. I initially had a few issues, mainly with Syncing the device, which made me dock the app some stars. It turned out to be a hardware issue, and as soon as I got a replacement watch, any negatives about this were gone. With this watch, I get the Oxygen Sensor, heart rate monitor, sleep tracking, and the screen looks great. The added feature of the time showing with the 2nd screen layer is actually a great feature, and does not interfere with the quality of the main display at all once it kicks in. If you are on the market for a smartwatch, especially now that oxygen sensors are all the rage due to the virus, this is the one to get.
