They last basically forever if you clean them, I instead choose to just replace them every 30000 miles. I usually use a hydrophobic cover from a different company but this time got the AEM version. It fit great over the filter and for me is a required item to avoid getting some water in the intake. Never hydrolocked, I have a bypass, but enough to get the o2 sensor dirty. Review: Works as a filter should! Got rid of a poopy filter my greddy turbo kit came with on my s2000 and slipped this filter on.
