Unsure about the stretchy quality. Does anyone think it would be an appropriate material?** A: Although this was a beautiful fabric, I don't think you would be happy with it for drapes that hang sraight down from a curtain rod, due to the stretch. Great for garments though. A **Q: Is this fabric velvet on both sides?** A: This fabric has a velvet texture on the right side and a smooth stretchy texture on the wrong side. **Q: Is this fabric good enough to put on church pews?** A: No! I would not use anything but upholstery fabric on church pews. This is velvet designed mainly for crafting, clothing ie. tops if you are into sewing...I lined drawers in a jewelry chest to display my jewelry on..but, no this would not work for repeated use for sitting on. It would not hold up AND there would be no way to clean it without ruining the pile of the fabric.
