So since I was going to add more info, I figured what the heck, so I stole one I got for my husband's truck and busted it open...Yup, it's water.We live in the mountains and our water is straight from a spring. Really excellent water, so I'm totally spoiled. This pouch was, admittedly, not as good as my usual house water, but then again, it's for my truck so I wouldn't have access to my house water anyway ;) But it did taste fine, ever so slightly flat (but it was warm) but nothing off-putting or chemical-y. I remain quite pleased with this for its intended purpose - in our trucks for emergency use.Was size it claimed to be. The pouch is sturdy, the date is printed clear (and shelf life as long as advertised), they sent exactly what I paid for & expected. The water is in 2 pouches inside the main pouch, each with notches for opening. 1 packet was about 9 average mouthfuls (4.225 fl oz per pouch).Additional info - I got a total of 4 pouches, 2 for each of our trucks. While there are no sharp objects in the storage bins with these, there are other items that have bounced around with them and all pouches have held up well, no leaks or worries.Tried the food part of it today. It says it "won't provoke thirst", and they're 2 big ol fat cakes of "apple cinnamon food bar", very dry looking, so I was skeptical. When I took my first bite, it was extremely crumbly (so if you really are in an emergency situation, be very careful with them). So again I thought this is definitely going to make me thirsty. But by the time I finished chewing, I was not thirsty and my mouth did not feel dry in any way.It didn't taste very good, but at least they didn't fib about the thirsty part. It's in its own vac-pack inside the main bag. Also has a little notch to open it with (was a bit tough, and if I was frozen/injured-clumsy it would have been quite difficult). It's a thick bar that easily breaks into two pieces, at 200 calories each. It smelled like apples, but the taste is mainly just sweet. Very very sweet, with a little bit of unpleasant (but not terrible) aftertaste.Even though it breaks into 2 bars, and there's 2 packets of water, the bar is considered 1 serving. On the nutritional info - I can't claim to know much about nutrition, but it seems more like a calorie-for-energy-you-may-need bar than a nutrition-bar. It's basically flour with stuff added, and then pressed into a bar. It does have vitamins but a ton of sugar and fats (not much salt) and carbs.In conclusion, I'm pretty satisfied with these. The outer main bag is a really thick mylar and has held up well being tossed around in our trucks. The inner individual bags also give extra protection.
