But it will only be as strong as the screws used to mount it and the surface its mounted to. I had no issue following the instructions and programming them both to the same cards. I've not had any issues with them opening or closing. The response is pretty good. These are reading the cards through 1/2" plywood with ease. I recommend this lock. I have another idea in my head of something I want to build so I'll probably be buying another one ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Needs a template for easier installation... *by B***N on November 6, 2025* Overall this comes across as a great little lock. However, it would be very helpful if there was a mounting template for everything since working from the inside of a compartment. Using the double sided tape on each piece helps, but it is still difficult - especially if there is material on the "door" side that will compress as the screws are tightened. I ended up having to reposistion everything because I made it too tight after the material compressed and it wouldn't lock. Overall, after figuring out the mounting, it works great. Seems sturdy and durable to prevent accidental opening of the cabinet.
