I accidently discovered that if I had my son pull the lever (inside the car) and move the plastic slider underneath, that the trunk opened. I found this out at 6 pm on a Saturday. The parts store was closed. So, luckily, I checked Amazon. Purchased the part. Figuring that the item couldn't be that expensive at the dealer, about $60-$80 was my estimate, it couldn't hurt to check. I was quoted $214 initially and $141 from another. The part arrived and I compared it OEM, could not see any differences in material or design. (OEM had a Kia and Hyundai stamp) Put it in in 15 minutes. Worked great. Even with my limited mechanical skills, it was easy.
