The sock-ons work great over just any type of socks no matter how tick or thin. I purchased the white ones and use over pink, white, yellow, black, etc regular socks. They are tight enought to stay on but not to the point where they become constrictive to the baby's feet. They are loose enough to not leave a mark on the baby's skin but tight enough to keep the socks on. I've washed them several times and tossed them in the dryer as well by themselves without a mesh bag and they are just like new. They didn't become un-done from the ends like many other products after several washes. They are of great quality and deffinetly worth the investment. So much, that I got on Amazon and bought a pink pair for my daughter (since the ones I got from her were blue) They keep the socks from falling off non-stop. Without these, her socks will fall off like.. 100 times a day and with these they only come off maybe once or twice, if she is kicking a lot. It is cold here right now so I love that they keep her socks on and keep her feet warmer. These would be a good purchase by a parent and a GREAT purchase for a gift, because it's something a lot of people won't buy themselves unless they know that they work! I have heard so many women say, "I wish I had those when I had children." I used these for both of my girls and they worked like a charm. At home, I didn't use them as often. When we were out and about, though, they were on most of the time. Also, in the winter, we tended to use them more because we didn't want our kid's feet getting cold. The only thing to keep an eye on is, after a while, our girls both learned how to take them off. There were several times where we'd turn around and we'd catch them chewing on them! So especially as your kids get older, just make sure to keep an eye on them.
