The light is as bright as the one I was replacing which was a much bigger and supposedly more powerful light. It works on common batteries easy to replace. I am very happy with the rechargeable battery as well and appreciate having the choice of regular AAA or rechargeable.The clip is a bonus. I planned to slip it into a belt pouch, but it goes in and out of my pocket so easily I don't even use the pouch.
