Something broke in the connecting piece on top of the rod and it as like using a limp noodle when I tried to vacuum. I first went to the Dyson website and saw that a replacement part was on back order with no idea of when it would become available. When I searched Amazon I found this part and crossed my fingers. It was even the same red color as my original. Upon receipt I found this item to be a tad bit lighter in weight than the original and a a tad bit slimmer as well. I put it into place and it worked!!
