A: The canvas would dry and not ruin.  We would advise to avoid getting super wet the handles because they are genuine leather.

A: I received it today, and it does have words on both sides.

**Q: what's the length of the bag?**
A: It length is 20" .  This measurement is from left to right across the front of the tote bag

**Q: Are the straps long enough to carry on your shoulder?**
A: If you carry it on your shoulder the bag sits right under your arm pits.  It’s doable but I imagine it would be uncomfortable over time.  It’s a pretty spacious bag.
