Pitch black if possible. I had bought several different kinds of "light blocking" curtains before but they were either just not pretty, bad material, or just plain didn't work. I also had trouble finding a set as they liked to sell by single panel. My windows were a mess. Mismatch curtains, some with blankets thrown over them to help block the light even more. I wanted my room to look nice, and my windows were killing that chance. I don't know how many I had looked through on amazon before I read the reviews and decided to give these a chance. I'm glad I did.The material feels nice and soft and they look beautiful. They come with tie backs/hold backs as well. They don't have that coating on the back that most dimming curtains have and they work. They block out the light. My room looks great now. I have pretty curtains that look nice during the day, but let me sleep at night.A few things to note:You will want a curtain rod that goes above the window and not an inset one as the rings will let light through, and it doesn't look as nice (in my opinion).Make sure that you put it on the right way. Since it has rings, you want to make sure it makes a kind of w pattern towards the window, the ends will wrap around the window, blocking even more light.Light will still sneak out the top unless you have a really good set of blinds, have a little shelf, or over hang above them.I chose a dark gray, I've noticed that people who picked lighter colors didn't have as much success with light blocking, so choose carefully on how much light you want blocked.I also haven't washed the yet. So, no info on how that. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ TRUST MY REVIEW! I've searched everywhere for blackout curtains! *by L***8 on May 12, 2017* Absolutely LOVE this purchase from Amazon. I was skeptical because sometimes the reviews can be deceiving based on what other people's opinions of "good" are, but these truly are amazing curtains. These curtains are 100% legit blackout curtains. Trust me, I've bought/returned SO many that I "thought" were blackout, but they still had light seep through somehow. I can finally get the total darkness I've wanted!!!Things to note prior to buying: CONSISTENCY: I bought the charcoal gray, other colors may not have as effective blackout as this color, but I'm confident that they would based on how awesome mine were. COLOR: The color matched similarly to my Eclipse "Rowland Light Blocking Premium" Curtains in LIGHT gray, so I would describe the color as a good mix between charcoal and silver--very beautiful in my opinion. TEXTURE: They do have a shiny/silky-like finish to them, not matte, which I think is actually very elegant and classy-looking. GROMMETS: The grommets are a dark brownish color which blend nicely with the charcoal gray color of the curtains. COVERAGE: I almost bought two sets thinking I would need them to overlap to get the most "effective" coverage, but two panels was perfectly enough to cover my standard-size window, with about 6 inches to spare on each side so the light wouldn't seep through. EXTRAS: There are two tie-backs that come with the curtains, although they aren't super nice and just curtain material with elastic bands on the end...nothing fancy, and I personally don't use tie backs so it wasn't a big deal for me.OVERALL: I would give this product 6 stars if I could. It's been a while since a product on Amazon has blown me away with expectations, but this one did! Buy these if you are tired of searching for blackout curtains, you won't be disappointed! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great product. *by A***E on May 25, 2017* Great product.. Wider than box store brands, so they cover wider window! I would have spent 3x to get the coverage that these provide if I bought the other brand of blackout curtains.There is no heavy plastic lining.. I like that, because my old brand would start to smell after the sun had beat on them all day.The soft polyester with no heavy liner means the curtains travel smoothly on the rod and lay much nicer than the others.I included pics before and after.. Not sure if I'll switch the arrangement,and my window is really wide, but wanted to give feedback asap since I just hung them. THe last photo is a closeup of the fabric. It is woven, and since there is no liner, there are tiny sparkles of light that sneak in. It doesn't affect the blackout though.. I'm reall happy with these.
