It can't compete with a bladed petrol strimmer but is good value and worth getting. I haven't tried cheap generic blades but even paying for Ryobi blades isn't overly expensive. Recommended. Fits straight on and snaps in place of the line cover. The little plastic blades snap on and although they can wear quite quickly, there are cheap blades to buy on desertcart available. The cover does comes with 10 blades to get you going. I have large front and back lawns approx. 2,000m2 so get through a set of two with the edging, weed whacking etc. each time. Occasionally one may fly off if worn down, but the noise changes and you can tell instantly. The strimmer sounds like a mini helicopter when you first start and they cut through the hardiest of weed.
