Telefunken did not skimp on quality in order to bring it in at an affordable price point for serious home studios (not that they ever do). The TF11 is handcrafted in America and features only the highest-quality components such as a CK12-type edge-terminated capsule, a discrete Class A JFET amplification stage, and a custom OEP/Carnhill output transformer made in the UK. Now, we should point out that the microphone does have a fixed cardioid polar pattern, but that’s not a compromise at all for perhaps 90% of your typical studio and stage applications. If you want an affordable workhorse large-diaphragm FET condenser mic that delivers outstanding performance on vocals and instruments of all types, make room in your mic locker

Review: It's okay - Good clarity but sounds scooped with pronounced bass and treble. Also for the sound it's overpriced, although its build quality is second to none. My Sennheiser MK4, AT4040, Vanguard V4, and even AKG P220 and Shure KSM141 all sounded better than this Telefunken TF11. I don't know how it was awarded the recognition it received. Sound was heard through my Audient iD24.
