I did not have high expectations for this drum because the price was suspiciously cheap, in my opinion. But I bought it to use in a few numbers in a chorus concert I was directing, and figured it would be good enough. Well I’m pretty blown away at both the sound and the construction of this drum! The drum head on mine is easily 10” and I was surprised at how deep a sound a drum this size could make, and what a nice tone it has. On top of that, the elephant carving and paint job are pretty impeccable, and the whole thing is very sturdy / good weight for its size. I was kind of hoping for a dolphin one but the elephant is gorgeous and my main concern was how it sounded, and it sounds awesome! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Sturdy and good size *by T***I on Reviewed in the United States on November 10, 2023* It is well made, a great size, has good sound to it and was packaged in a great manner that protected it in shipment. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Very durable *by D*** on Reviewed in the United States on September 9, 2023* Sound quality is good. I use this for our local drum circles. It’s easy to carry and use! ## Frequently Bought Together - African Drum, Hand-Carved Bongo Congo Djembe Drum 8 inches Mahogany Goatskin Drumhead for Children Starter Beginners(Black) - Adjustable Djembe Shoulder Strap Thick Pad African Hand Drum Sling Comfort Percussion Instrument Belt - Drums Djembe Drum Djembe jembe is a Rope- goat skin Covered Goblet Drum Played by Hands West Africa style (4x8) --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - πŸ›’ **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** β€” Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** β€” Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - πŸ’° **No Hidden Fees** β€” All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - πŸ”„ **15-Day Free Returns** β€” Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - πŸ”’ **Secure Payments** β€” Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** β€” Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.tn/products/232312458-djembe-drum-aklot-african-drum-hand-carved-8-inches-mahogany](https://www.desertcart.tn/products/232312458-djembe-drum-aklot-african-drum-hand-carved-8-inches-mahogany) --- *Product available on Desertcart Tunisia* *Store origin: TN* *Last updated: 2026-10-06*
