Review: Perfect for cutting - I have RA, and had no problem cutting 6ga wire! Review: Quality cut - Good Tool - You get old school Klein quality with this made in USA tool. Some of their stuff is getting cheap but these are clearly old school workhorses. The cutting edges come with a fine burr from factory that you might want to lightly file off with a very fine, very small file. You are not sharpening them, they are very sharp already, you are just removing a hanging burr left over from the sharpening process. They go for max sharpness and expect the residual thin hanging burr to quickly wear away with use. Of course with most heavy duty steel Klein hand tools you might want to oil them and work them in (just like their lineman's etc). Usually I prefer thin dipped vinyl handles for dexterity, but I really like the feel of these very tough grips on this premium version. I can tell they will last the life of the tool. Before I committed to purchase I looked at videos comparing many brands, from econo to trade pro, and in each video the Klein J63225N came out the clear winner in both cut effort and user preference. I tested them against a pair of compound leverage dykes (that easily cut small bolts) on some small #4 and it was no contest. The J63225N were smooth & easy in comparison. Cutting #2 was easy doing repeated cuts. Don't get me wrong, they still take effort, but they are not a 'struggle' or a hand exercise. Now understand what you are buying here... they are compact cable / wire cutters, meaning you will often need to open the handles wider than you can grip them (for larger gauges) and then start the cut with 'two' hands and then finish with one hand, as handles come closer. These blades are sharp and seem to be very durable. Can’t go wrong with the brand, it never disappoints. I will say though that about the biggest these things will cut is about a 0-0 gauge and that’s a stretch. But I’ve done it and they cut right through.
