## Description

Introducing Bose Sleepbuds II — tiny, comfortable earbuds with sleep technology that’s clinically proven to help you fall asleep faster. They work with the Bose Sleep app to deliver relaxing sounds that help you fall asleep, and use Bose noise-masking technology to cover unwanted nighttime disturbances that may otherwise wake you. So you get your best sleep ever. From wind down to wake up, this is your easy solution to better sleep. Sleepbuds play content only from the app. Explore the Sound Library’s curated relaxation content — including tranquil tonal environments and sounds from nature and beyond — and Bose-engineered noise-masking sounds designed to cover nighttime disturbances like snoring, outside traffic, and next-door conversation. Download your favorites directly onto the earbuds to customize your nighttime routine. The app also lets you set an alarm only you’ll hear, and access other features including Phone-free Mode, which allows you to program your settings ahead of time so you can leave your phone in another room. In addition to optimized sleep sounds, Bose noise-masking technology also uses the noise-blocking design of proprietary soft silicone ear tips. A pliable fin fits snugly in the ridge of your ear, while an umbrella shape gently seals off your ear canal to passively block noise. Three sizes are included so you can find a secure, comfortable fit. Sleep on your back or your side, toss and turn, or roll over during the night, Sleepbuds will stay put. A nickel-metal hydride battery provides up to 10 hours per charge, enough for a full night’s sleep, while the included charging/storage case gives you up to three additional full charges. Experience Sleepbuds for yourself.

Review: These ear buds may have saved my marriage! - I can finally sleep in the same room as my husband! After 11 years of trying everything short of surgery on him and using all kinds of ear plugs for myself, we are finally both sleeping well next to each other. I used to use silicone ear plugs plus a really loud noise machine and his snoring would still keep me up. The sound quality is amazing, it instantly soothes me and is far better than the white noise app I had on my phone. The buds never fall out, though I sometimes take one out in my sleep and I wake up with it in my hand. Of course there are a few cons: my ears get a little bit sweaty, but not nearly as bad as with earplugs; they cause a tiny bit of soreness, especially the first few nights or if you use a stiff pillow. The price would seem like a con, but the quality is just that good. The charging case uses magnets to perfectly align the buds on the charging dock, ensures they never get lost, and uses lights to indicate the buds are actually charging, so if they are misaligned you know; plus the case holds a charge for an extra night or two for camping, etc., when you can’t plug it in. You might think it would be a disadvantage that you can’t listen to music on them, but that prevents you from getting annoying alerts through the buds. I’ve never once had any sounds other than white noise come through. They come with three slices of soft silicone fittings that easily slip around the hard inner mechanism, so they should fit any ear. My only complaint is that the hard piece could be thinner—it sticks out of my ear a bit, causing a little bit of discomfort when side sleeping, though I’ve gotten pretty used to it. Other than that, these tiny buds may have saved my marriage! Update: After months of use, I still love them and recommend them to everyone. All the complaints I’ve read seem to not be thought out—they want something that would actually hinder good sleep. Not sure what all the complaining is about with having to charge them every day in the case and take it with you for a weekend trip—is there really anything that small that holds a charge more than a day? And why would you travel without the case, you’d lose them so fast! I love the sleek little case and the fact that I don’t have to bring a plug with it for a quick getaway or campout since it holds 3 days of charge. Yes, they hurt a tiny bit and they do cause warmth and sweating in the ears, but a LOT less so than silicone or foam earplugs. If it did have the absolute noise canceling capability people want, but it would be way more hot and sweaty, plus you want to be able to hear really loud ambient noise, such as a screaming baby (I sometimes have those at my house.)Those complaining about the limited sounds don’t realize you can download dozens of new sounds any time. I downloaded a rain shower that wasn’t on there originally and it’s the only one I use. Not sure why you’d need to swipe through sounds or control noise on the earpiece itself since you simply set it and go to sleep. If you could control with the earpiece, it would have a lot of accidental changes as you’d roll around at night—or at least I would. The only time I have to change the settings at night is when I need to adjust the alarm, which you wouldn’t be able to do on a controllable earpiece anyway. Bose has really thought out these little things. The only thing I would hope they change is the size—make it a little more flush with the ear and squishy around the ear hole.
Review: I'm doing my HAPPY DANCE! Sleepbuds are back! - I purchased the original Sleepbuds when they came out to try to help me deal with my wife's snoring which can be horrible. She says mine is bad too but I don't hear that so it doesn't keep me awake. :) The original Sleepbuds were great. They were tiny, battery life was all night and then some unlike my Airpods, and they are pretty comfortable. Like the Airpods, it was pretty easy to forget they are in after a minute or two. Unfortunately, the original Sleepbuds also had a major problem. After a couple months, the batteries started acting wonky. They would charge, then one wouldn't charge, they often had trouble connecting. It turns out that the new battery technology they used wasn't working out. Bose recalled the whole batch and refunded the money of those that purchased them, in full. I was happy to get the money back but very sad to lose the Sleepbuds. In the time since, I've used my Airpods on the really bad nights but I can't lay on my side and the battery life isn't enough to get through the night. They even make an annoying sound that wakes you up right before the battery dies. Then I purchased a set of Jabra 75t that promised 7 hours of battery life (not quite, more like 5 hours). They were a little better at blocking noise but at the end of the battery life they screamed "Low Battery. Low Battery" at me. While the Airpods were comfortable (but not very good at blocking sound), the Jabras were not as comfortable, sometimes causing me ear pain where they rubbed. Some nights I would use the Jabras and when they died I would switch to the Airpods. Not ideal. I've looked at some of the other options out there but none of them appealed to me. That's why I'm so happy the Sleepbuds are back. Bose has changed to good old, reliable NiMh battery technology. I'm not sure why they didn't go Li-Ion but I'm sure they had reasons. The new Sleepbuds II actually seem smaller than the originals but maybe that's because I'm used to the much larger (though still pretty small) Jabra earbuds. They don't stick out of my ears at all so laying on my side is no problem. I've only used them one night but assuming they have the battery problem worked out, it will be so great to have them back. I slept for 8 hours last night and the battery charge still showed at 40%. They are very comfortable. I find the selection of sounds more than adequate. I just need a noise masking sound. I like the Brown Static since it helps block the low sounds of snoring better than some of the more "bright" sounds. These are really expensive. And the charging case is too big. I'm not sure why it can't be Airpod or Jabra case sized. That would make them easier to travel with. But they work, at least for me. Let's just hope we don't have battery problems again... -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- UPDATE: Two+ months in. I'm still loving these. I'm sleeping SO good. I use them every night and in the 2+ months I have had them, the right one has fallen out twice, probably because I didn't get it put in quite right. A few nights ago I had some pain in the right ear, probably because I didn't get it put in quite right :). Most of the time, once they get settled in after a few minutes, I can't even feel them, even when laying on my side. I'm still using the Warm Static sound and it works about 99% of the time to keep me from hearing any sounds from the other side of the bed. If I do hear it, I bump the volume up a touch and it goes away. So, I'm definitely still happy. There does seem to be a bug either in the software or iOS where allowing phone calls to make it through to the buds doesn't stay turned on. If I get it working one night then it doesn't work the next night. I'm not sure who's fault that is, Bose or Apple. I definitely recommend them if you are a light sleeper that can't tolerate any noises in your sleeping environment. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- UPDATE: 1 year in Darn it. The left bud has stopped connecting to the app. I was thinking that they were two years old and these things do have limited recharge cycles. So I checked and no, they are only a year old. After slogging through the Bose support site and trying everything I was finally able to get to the place where they will replace them under warranty. That's nice but they are saying UP TO FOUR WEEKS to get the replacements. How the heck am I supposed to get any sleep for the next four weeks without these things? Hopefully it doesn't take that long. I'm still loving these things. They work very well for me. I hope this new set lasts more than a year.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: How well do these block out significant snoring?**
A: I’ve had these for almost 3 months. I’ve used them daily and they have been incredible. My partner snores really loudly and dogs like to scuffle around at night. These usually wake me up multiple times in a night. I was so sleep deprived that I was taking naps during work hours and threw my entire sleep hygiene off the map. These changed my life. I don’t hear any of it and don’t wake up during my sleep anymore.

**Q: Can the earbuds connect to a laptop? what is the sound quality like (base, tremble, etc)?**
A: They are not ear buds. They connect to a mobile device and play different types of white noise (waterfall, rain, forest, waves, etc.). You can load some of your own music but we have not tried that. I will add that they are terrific. Excellent noise reduction. My wife can't hear my snoring!!

**Q: are the sounds in the library free?**
A: Yes the sounds are free but there are only sounds available. No music with words, only sounds with sleep sounds.

**Q: Can you hike and run with them?**
A: They are meant for sleeping. Yes you can take them hiking or whatever but why? There are much better pods for hiking. The sleep buds only have certain sounds. Much better listening to nature as the others said. Besides, you wouldn’t want a bear or other dangerous animals to sneak up on you.

They were a little better at blocking noise but at the end of the battery life they screamed "Low Battery. Low Battery" at me. While the Airpods were comfortable (but not very good at blocking sound), the Jabras were not as comfortable, sometimes causing me ear pain where they rubbed. ### ⭐ Stopped working.
*by A***Y on March 3, 2021*

They stay secure in your ears all night, and they do seal pretty well so you can sleep through most noise. Also, I'm a side sleeper and have zero comfort issues with sleeping on my side because of how thin these are. I have two complaints: charging is VERY slow - takes 6 hours from zero to 100 and can't be used for the first time until you let them sit there for 6 hours so if they arrive late, you won't be able to unbox and use them right away because the app doesn't allow it until they've reached 100% the first time you get them. Also, on one occasion, an earbud wasn't perfectly lined up with the magnetic connector and when I went to bed I discovered it didn't charge one day. So you really have to sit there and observe the flashing charge light for a few seconds and make sure it's secure to the magnetic connector. My second complaint is that most of the sounds these come with aren't all that great and have clearly noticeable "loops" to them. I was able to find one that works for me where it's not really noticeable, but I wish there were more options both with deeper bass to mask car doors shutting/people going up and down stairs and I wish Bose would work on making sure there isn't a noticeable loop on any of them. On the plus side, I received a notification that new sounds were added to the library the other day, so Bose is actively updating these and supporting them. Aside from that these are excellent and the #1 highlight in my opinion is comfort and security. I forget I'm even wearing them when I lie down yet they plug my ears very nicely. 2022 Update: These failed on me. They consistently had issues charging and I’d have to sit there and unstick them from the magnetic connector, set them back in the case, pull them out, set them back in…sometimes 10+ times. After about a year of having them, one of them randomly became extremely quiet and virtually useless, so I could only really hear the sound out of one ear. After over a year now, last night I grabbed both earbuds from the case before bed, clearly both fully charged (no flashing lights), and the left earbud has completely stopped connecting. Now they’re no longer under warranty and would cost me $185 to replace. I’ve abused $150 pairs of Beyerdynamics and Audiotechnica headphones that have lasted me 7-8 years and show no signs of slowing down. A $249 pair of earbuds should not start dying after 12 months. These do not last.
