And will the beans be light color or dark after cooking?** A: Hi, sure the shell will be soft after cooking but first you need to either soak them overnight in hot water then boil them or boil them till they become soft ( by soaking less time needed in boiling) then you will treat it the way you like to eat it **Q: can these beans be sprouted?** A: Yes they can, but much better to eat as a whole bean. They should be soaked for 24 hours before slow cooking for 12-16 hours (high until boiled then simmer for the rest while adding water as you go. Make sure that the water always stays 1/2 inch above beans.
