Unfortunately, the alarm LED only flashes one single time for maybe a quarter of a second only the moment it reads a new temperature which seems to be maybe every few seconds at best. It does not stay lit or flash continually when out of range. If you are not sitting and watching the unit for a few seconds you may never even notice the little alarm flash.Next, the body of the unit is very cheaply made with thin flimsy plastic. The setting +/- buttons stick registering multiple presses for each press. The LCD screen is very difficult to read, even if pressed against a tank. There's just too much going on to make out the dark LCD lettering. ### ⭐ Wasted money *by D***N on Reviewed in the United States on June 6, 2021* This thermometer only kept the correct temperature for three weeks. I have three different types of thermometers in my 135 gallon tank. Maybe it’s just me but it really wasn’t user-friendly.
