Over a couple of decades i've had only one failure and it was probably due to rough handling during shipment. Review: Read this first!!! - This is a heavy duty thermostat. But....... unless you are installing this in an uncharged line it's worthless. The way this thing is made makes it so you have to turn off the water and drain the WHOLE building! Instead of being able to leave the existing copper conductor in the pipe. The conductor has a wire that is connected to the rest of the unit so you have to remove the whole thing and screw the new 1 in. I bought 6 of these and did not know it was bad since it was a stock item for me.
