I needed to pull a cam sprocket off a motorcycle crankshaft, and a puller of this type was recommended. It worked perfectly for that task. At this price, it's obviously Chinese made - but quality and design appears excellent. It has a very wide range of adjustment. The block is not square - it's wider on one side than the other, and all faces are slightly convex allowing even more adjustability. So, the width on top primarily depends on which set of block faces you attach the puller arms to.
